About the Modern Dance Director

Laura Stauderman’s professional experience began as a member of The Mid-Hudson Ballet Company in New York.   She earned a BFA  in Dance Education from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia and a MA,  in Dance Education, from Teachers College, Columbia University, NY.  She later performed in NY with the Marcy Simon Modern Dance Company,  and worked with  many  top choreographers and teachers of this profession including Milton Myers, Janice Brenner, Donald Byrd, Dwight Rhoden, Desmond Richardson, and Ronen Koresh.  She spent four years teaching and directing a performing arts magnet high school dance program in Tampa, FL.  She also choreographed works for the dance program at St. Petersburg College, FL and under the commission of the Tampa Visitor’s Bureau and Chesepeake Bay Holdings, Inc.   Ms. Stauderman relocated to North Carolina in 2003 and was director of the East Millbrook Dance Program until 2006.  She also taught advanced modern at the North Carolina Dance Institute and Infinity Ballet and has served as the Director of the HSHS Dance Program since  the school opened .
